Mark Ruffalo's Brother In Intensive Care Following Gunshot Wound

December 4, 2008

Mark Ruffalo's brother Scott is in intensive care after being shot. Scott, 39, is said to be "clinging to life" in intensive care after being shot in the head in Beverley Hills, California, on Monday.

A spokesperson said Mark and the rest of the Ruffalo family were at Scott's bedside, adding: "The family are being very supportive of each other during this tragedy."

Scott, a hairdresser who has worked in Los Angeles for over 15 years, is married with a stepdaughter.

Police who are investigating the case have revealed "suspicious activity" occurred at the time and location of the shooting - which is believed to be Scott's apartment. No other details have been released at this stage.

Scott and Mark were born in Wisconsin to parents Frank and Marie. They also have two sisters, Nicole and Tania. The family moved to California when Mark and Scott were teenagers.

Mark made his breakthrough as an actor in the film "You Can Count On Me" in 2000 and went on to appear in "Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind" alongside Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet and "13 Going On 30" with Jennifer Garner.
