Michael Douglas' ex-wife admits going after his money because she was conned

New York, NY, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Michael Douglas' ex-wife is going after his "Wall Street 2" money because she lost her \$45 million divorce settlement to fraudsters. Diandra Douglas said she got swindled by accountant Kenneth Starr, who is currently in jail for ripping off his celebrity clients of millions of dollars.

Diandra filed suit against the actor in June, claiming she is entitled to half of the upfront money and royalties from "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" since their divorce deal says she gets half of anything Michael gets from any films he did, including residuals, merchandising, and ancillary rights.

Since "Wall Street 2" is the sequel of the 1987 blockbuster "Wall Street," Diandra feels she should be handed over half of Michael's salary from it.

The suit left many baffled. Diandra reportedly got \$45 million from her divorce settlement in 2000 so why does she still need the money?

It turns out she was conned by Starr and Bernie Madoff, and she wants to recuperate her loss by milking her ex-husband for some more money.

She told the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, via the New York Post, "Because of the type of human being I aspire to be, if Starr & Company hadn't happened and Madoff hadn't, and if a lot of other things hadn't happened, to tell you the honest truth, I really believe I would have walked away."

But she didn't know Michael was suffering from throat cancer when she filed the papers, saying, "Michael didn't know he was ill, I didn't know he was ill, and the gods didn't know he was ill. I am not into going after sick people for things that don't belong to me."

When she learned about it, she called him to tell him that she was "terribly sorry he was ill," but he hung up on her.

One of the actor's attorneys told the magazine that Michael doesn't remember hanging up on Diandra, but "He might have addressed her in an abrupt manner."

But now that Michael's cancer is in remission, Diandra can now move forward with her claim.

Though she is going after the actor's money, she insisted that "I am not a greedy person by nature."
