Michael Sheen Claims Sir David Frost Put A Restraining Order On Him

October 20, 2008

Michael Sheen says Sir David Frost put a restraining order on him. The "Frost/Nixon" actor - who portrays the legendary British TV broadcaster in the film and also played him in a stage production of the same name by Peter Morgan - claims Frost took legal action when he "stalked" him and took photos on his cell phone.

He joked: "I kind of avoided meeting Sir David until after we'd opened on stage because I was a bit worried about feeling protective of him too early - it's a fairly 'warts and all' portrayal."

"But then I saw him walking down the street one day and I have to admit that I was his stalker and I followed him around."

"I watched how he walked and took pictures of him on my phone. And that's why there's a restraining order on me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it."

The Welsh-born actor - who portrayed former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in both "The Queen" and "The Deal" - admitted Frost was "very supportive and generous" while he prepared for the role.

Michael added to BANG Showbiz: "He's the ultimate club member. He knows everybody. He introduced me to the Prime Minister Gordon Brown for God's sake."
