Elvis Costello has been traditionally known as a rock artist but he has often been referred to as a musical chameleon. In his latest project, Costello earns that title by making country music the centerpiece of the project. He worked with producer T Bone Burnett to record the entire project in a lightning fast three days.

Costello recorded the project at Nashville Sound Emporium and tapped Nashville legends Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris and others to appear on the album. Costello has cut everything from punk to traditional pop in more than three decades as an artist. His ability to cross genres is a testament to how much he's grown in the time that he has been in the industry.

Costello's new project, Secret, Profane & Sugarcane is due June 2. He will also be touring with the Sugarcanes. The tour begins June 9 in Red Bank, NJ.
