Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant has accepted a CBE from Prince Charles. The British rocker has been made a Commander of the British Empire by the future king at the Buckingham Palace Friday.

The 60-year-old frontman was awarded for his "services to popular music." His honor comes after Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger and Elton John received their knighthood in the past.

He was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying, "The diversity of people who have moved through here this morning prove there is no real establishment here."

"I owe everything to the musicians I work with. From U.K. to Africa to Tennessee, it is their brilliance that I bounce off. Alone I'm nothing."

Four years ago, bandmate Jimmy Page also received his OBE, Officer of the Order of the British Empire, one-notch lower than Plant's CBE.

Plant, though best known for his works with Led Zeppelin from the late '60s, also has a successful solo career.

Just earlier this year, he won the 2009 Grammy Award for Record of the Year for his "Please Read the Letter" track he recorded with country singer Alison Krauss.
