Maxwell's newest single has reached the stop spot on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. The singer's "Pretty Wings," his first single from his fourth album "BLACKsummers'night," gave him his first #1 on the chart in ten years.

The 36-year-old artist, whose track "Fortunate" track reached number one on the R&B chart in 1999, entered the Billboard Top 200 at #1 with his highly anticipated fourth studio album, which was released on July 7.

"BLACKsummers'night" achieved RIAA Gold status for selling more than 500,000 copies in only four weeks since its release. It also reached #1 on the iTunes R&B Album chart.

The single, "Pretty Wings," also reached #1 on the iTunes R&B Singles chart.

Meanwhile, the second single from the album, "Bad Habits," is fast approaching a top five position on the charts.
