Legendary rock group Metallica are helping in the search for a missing fan. The band pledged $50,000 to aid the search for 20-year-old Morgan Dana Harrington, who was last seen attending their concert on October 17.

Authorities have been searching for the Virginia Tech student since she went missing after the group's show at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She attended the show with friends but was separated from them. She called them outside the arena to tell them she couldn't get back in and would just try to find another way home. Her phone and purse were found the next day in the parking lot.

Her parents have set up the website FindMorgan.com and are offering $100,000 for the safe return of their daughter or for information leading to the arrest of whoever is responsible for her disappearance. Metallica has added another $50,000 for the reward.

The band posted on their official website:

"We are deeply concerned about the disappearance of 20-year-old Virginia Tech student Morgan Dana Harrington, who was last seen while attending our concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA, on Saturday night."

"Our thoughts are with Morgan and her family for her safe return."

Harrington is described to have blue eyes and blonde hair. She stands at 5'6" and weighs 120 lbs. Anyone who has information regarding her disappearance is urged to contact the Virginia State Police.
