Miranda Cosgrove Adds "Sunshine" To "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs" Soundtrack

"iCarly" star Miranda Cosgrove is adding some "Sunshine" to the "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" soundtrack. The Nickelodeon star recorded the song "Raining Sunshine" for the upcoming movie from Sony Pictures Animation.

The song, "Raising Sunshine," was written by Matthew Gerrard, Charlie Midnight, and Jay Landers, who have worked with Hilary Duff. Cosgrove is no stranger to soundtracks. She headlined the hit "iCarly" soundtrack which featured her version of "About You Now."

"We couldn't be more excited by the song Miranda has recorded for 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,'" said Lia Vollack, president of Worldwide Music, Sony Pictures Entertainment. "She's an amazing artist who brings her smart, fresh style to our film with the song, 'Raining Sunshine,' in our end-title sequence."

The movie, based on the popular children's book, focuses on a young inventor who turns his town upside down when he causes giant food to fall from the sky like rain. The film features the voice talents of Bill Hader ("Saturday Night Live") and Anna Faris ("The House Bunny").

The movie hits theaters September 18th. The soundtrack, featuring Miranda Cosgrove, will also hit stores in September.
