Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament Attacked By Knife-Wielding Robbers

Rocker Jeff Ament, bassist for the Grammy Award-winning group Pearl Jam, has been robbed and assaulted by three masked thieves with knives.

According to police report filed in Atlanta and obtained by Rolling Stone, the 46-year-old Ament was pulling up a 2009 Jeep Commander to their studio on April 27 with a friend when the three assailants came out of the rear woody area.

The attackers were all carrying knives and wearing black masks, black gloves, and black pants. One of them ran to the drivers' side window and smashed it and the passenger's window. He snatched the Blackberry phone and demanded money.

The two other suspects smashed the rear window and began removing the victims' things. Ament jumped out of the passenger side and began to run. One of the attackers chased and knocked him to the ground. He sustained rear head laceration.

The suspects ran back through the woods into a waiting black Maxima. The incident was caught on tape through a video surveillance camera at the rear of the incident location as well as the adjacent office building.

Ament was robbed of $3,000 in cash and $4,320 worth of goods, including his passport.

No arrests have been made.
