Steven Tyler Denies Quitting Aerosmith

Aerosmith's most famous face is not quitting the group. Steven Tyler has denied speculations he is leaving the band, busting the incessant rumors during a show in New York.

Joining guitarist Joe Perry on stage at the Irving Plaza, Tyler told the crowd, "I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith."

Last week, Perry, who is currently doing a solo side project, has told Las Vegas Sun that Steven "quit as far as I can tell," prompting reports that the frontman has left the band he helped formed in the late '60s.

Perry added that Tyler doesn't return his phone calls and that the singer has had no contacts with him or with the other band members - Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer.
