Natalie Portman Appears In Public Service Annoucement Encouraging Americans To Vote

March 28, 2008

Next up for actress Natalie Portman - a public service announcement encouraging people to vote. The 26-year-old actress is on the Internet in a 30-second public service announcement in which she says, "Voting's how our democracy works."

The spot is non-partisan and unaffiliated with the presidential election. Portman's announcement focuses on the importance of participating in the democratic process. "To vote is to express yourself," she says.

The spot is tied to a new documentary called "Chicago 10," about protestors at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Portman's message also directs viewers to Takepart, a forum that allows for the discussion of current political issues of concern.
