Natalie Portman's dance double still insists "Black Swan" producers are lying

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Natalie Portman's "Black Swan" body double issue is far from over. American Ballet Theater dancer Sarah Lane, who was the Oscar winner's dance double in the film, won't give the issue a rest, claiming that it was really her dancing that was mostly featured.

Lane, who wrote and got interviewed about doing the dance work for Portman, still insists that the filmmakers lied about the actress' dancing abilities in the film.

In an interview with "20/20" on ABC, Lane simmered about how the producers made her role appear insignificant when it was her dancing that got Natalie praised for in the film.

"They're completely lying about the amount of dancing did in the movie," she said.

"I've been doing this for 22 years, and to say that someone trained for a year and a half and did what I did is degrading not only to me but to the entire ballet world. They threaten the entire principle of ballet and I feel like I need to say something."

Fox Searchlight Pictures, as well as the film's choreographer and Portman's fiancé Benjamin Millepied, already released statements, disproving Lane's claims. But in response to the new interview, director Darren Aronofsky also came to the star's defense by bringing in numbers.

He said, "Here is the reality. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film - 111 are Natalie Portman untouched. 28 are her dance double Sarah Lane. If you do the math, that's 80 percent Natalie Portman."

"20/20" also asked the editor to verify the director's math.

Film editor Andy Weisblum told them, "There are about 35 shots that are full-body shots in the movie. Of those 35 shots, 12 are Natalie, and the rest are Sarah. But over the overall film, Natalie did a lot more than that. I mean, she did most of the other shots. It was sometimes hard for me to tell the difference as the editor, it was so close."

Lane's point is that she should have been given her due. It has been said that Portman's chances at winning the Academy Award Best Actress would have slimmed down if the Academy knew that she had a lot of help in dancing. Perhaps the ballerina is simmering because not only was she not identified as the dance double in the film credit, she was also left out in Portman's Oscar acceptance speech.

For her part, the pregnant actress said she explained that she did not even remember what she said on her speech, so leaving out Lane was probably not intentional.

She said, "I had a chance to make something beautiful with this film, and I don't want to give in to the gossip."
