Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Natalie Portman is breaking her silence about her recent dance-double controversy. Her dancing double, Sarah Lane, claims that she did most of the dance scenes in the Oscar-winning "Black Swan," which had been refuted by Fox Searchlight, the film's choreographer and Portman's fiancé Benjamin Millepied, and co-star Mila Kunis. Lane told Dance Magazine that Fox Searchlight wanted the public to see Portman as a dedicated actress who became a ballerina in a year and a half for a role, adding that she did almost all of the dance scenes in the film. Millepied defended his bride-to-be, saying 85 percent of the movie is Portman. Fox Searchlight and Kunis also defended the actress. And while almost everyone has spoken up about the controversy, Portman remained mum until now. She told E!, "I had a chance to make something beautiful with this film and I don't want to give in to the gossip." As for forgetting to thank Lane in her speech when she won the Best Actress at the recent Academy Awards, she said, "I don't remember my Oscar speech at all, and I'm actually too embarrassed to watch it." |
