Nicole Kidman was "really damaged" after Tom Cruise filed for divorce from her. The Academy Award-winning actress revealed that she was devastated when the "Top Gun" actor dumped her after eleven years of marriage.

She was half of one of Hollywood's most powerful couples, though she was rarely heard in public even when she had a film to promote. She was always by Tom's side, looking lovely and supportive. Nicole said that she truly loved Tom, but the relationship wasn't meant to be.

In an interview with Marie Claire U.K. March issue, she spoke fondly of her first marriage, revealing that they lasted for so long because of their privacy.

She said, "As a couple, we were very private. We were not out a lot and we were very, very tight and that's why we lasted ten years, which is a good amount of time, particularly when you got married at 23."

"I was never seeking to be a celebrity. But I was prepared to do that for love… it's hard when you're young. But I'm ready to give up anything for love, because ultimately, that is what you have."

And although it was a "great relationship," it has "ran its course."

Nicole continued, "I was really damaged and not sure whether [love and marriage] was ever going to happen again to me."

It all turned out for the better, though. She is now married to country star Keith Urban with daughters Sunday Rose, 2, and the newest addition to their family, Faith Margaret, who was born via gestational carrier in late December.

As the interview with the magazine was held before they revealed Faith Margaret's existence, Nicole only talked about Sunday, saying, "I certainly never thought I'd have a baby at 41. We never know what's around the corner."

Nicole now lives in Nashville with Keith and their daughters.

"I wouldn't have been able to do this in my twenties. Now I'm crazy in love. I think you can live anywhere and do anything when you're crazy in love."
