Nicole Scherzinger To Fill In For Cheryl Cole On "The X Factor"

While Cheryl Cole continues to battle her recent bout of malaria, Nicole Scherzinger has been asked to return to the judges seat on "The X Factor." Following a recent guest judge appearance during the auditions, the Pussycat Doll will fill in Cole's seat as they enter the boot camp sessions.

Scherzinger appeared alongside judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh during the Manchester auditions and has been asked to report back for the X Factor boot camp auditions. During the boot camp sessions, the judges dwindle down the contestants to a group of 24.

The boot camp sessions are usually is taped before a live audience. But this time, the usual crowd of onlookers won't be in attendance.

"Due to the unusual circumstances, we are not inviting an audience to watch the contestants perform at The X Factor boot camp next week," the show's Twitter reads.

The celebrity guest judges were initially brought in to fill in for Dannii Minogue's maternity leave. The guest judges included Geri Halliwell, Katy Perry, Natalie Imbruglia, and Pixie Lott. Scherzinger is the only guest judge who has been asked to return.

Scherzinger, who recently won "Dancing with the Stars" in America and performs as part of the Pussycat Dolls worldwide, has some judging experience as well. She's previously been a celebrity guest judge on MTV's "The Sing Off" and "The Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious."
