Nicole Scherzinger to host U.S. X Factor

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is reportedly joining Simon Cowell in his new talent show venture. The 32-year-old singer/dancer, who appeared as a guest judge in the U.K. version of "The X Factor" last year, is said to be under consideration as a host on the upcoming U.S. version.

Sources told People magazine that Nicole has nabbed the position, although it is still undecided if she will be the sole host or she will have a co-presenter. Simon allegedly thinks that his project will benefit from having two hosts.

He has already announced Grammy-winning record executive L.A. Reid as one of the judges. Cheryl Cole, a judge on the U.K. version, is also in the process of signing a deal, while Simon's former "American Idol" co-judge, Paula Abdul, is being considered to join the panel.

Simon had previously said of Nicole in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS radio show, "I absolutely adore her. She's gorgeous and ruthlessly ambitious."

Nicole is set to release a solo album titled "Killer Love" later this year.
