Prince Charles And His Wife Camilla Meet His First Girlfriend

Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have met up with his first girlfriend. The royal couple is currently completing a 10-day official tour of South America and while in Chile Charles took the opportunity to meet with Lucia Santa Cruz - the woman who reportedly introduced him to Camilla.

The prince and Duchess of Cornwall visited Lucia at her home in Santiago, Chile's capital, where the trio drank tea together. Although the trip was supposed to be private, more than 30 paparazzi turned up to try to catch a shot of them together.

Lucia and Charles are said to have had a short affair 40 years ago, while the heir to the throne was studying at Cambridge University. Although it eventually fizzled out, Lucia reportedly told him she knew "just the girl" for him - referring to Camilla - during a 1971 polo match. She is said to have been invited to the royal couple's 2005 wedding.

Prince Charles is planning to use the trip to warn politicians of about the impending devastation climate change is going to cause.

Insiders claim he will tell officials the world has "less than 100 months to act" in order to save the planet. After that, he claims the damage will be irreversible.

Charles is expected to make a speech asking for more cuts in CO2 emissions and for help to stop rainforests being destroyed.

On Thursday, the prince - who has long been an advocate of green issues - will address business leaders in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he will insist the ongoing global financial crisis should not stop efforts to halt global warming.

British politicians are said to be keen for the prince to take a bigger role in spreading the world about climate change globally, after being told how respected his beliefs are.
