Prince Charles And Liz Hurley Team Up To Launch Organic Food Line

March 31, 2009

Britain's Prince Charles and Liz Hurley are teaming up to launch a range of organic food. The 60-year-old royal's food company Duchy Originals will use ingredients grown at the model-and-actress' 400-acre Gloucestershire farm for the meals, which will be available from October.

Liz said: "His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales is an inspiration to me because of his passionate belief in organic food and farming and his unwavering commitment to help protect and sustain the countryside."

"I feel honored to be working with Duchy Originals and am extremely excited about the products we are developing together."

The range will include pork, poultry, lamb and beef. Liz, 40, already sells sausages and beef from animals reared at her farm in Ampney Knowle, Cirencester, south west England, at famers' markets.

Charles has been an advocate of organic farming for years and recently opened a shop dedicated to selling Duchy Originals items - including preserves, wines and shortbreads - near his home in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

His food line, which was established in 1990, has more than 200 items in its range.
