Prince Harry To Become A Millionaire On His 25th Birthday

September 9, 2009

Britain's Prince Harry will become a millionaire next week. The royal will inherit his share of the estate left by his mother, the late Princess Diana, when he turns 25 on Tuesday.

It is estimated the amount could be as much as £9 million [$15 million]. However, the prince, like his brother Prince William, is banned from spending any of the money until he is 30.

Instead, any income his portion of the estate makes - about £300,000 [$495,000] a year - will be put into his bank account for him to live off.

Harry will be taking part in his helicopter flying course on his big day, meaning he will probably not be throwing a glitzy party to celebrate.

A source said: "It's unlikely he will even be allowed a drink."

Diana died in 1997 in a car crash in Paris.

William and Harry inherited £6.5 million [$10.70 million] each, but the money was invested for them meaning it has gained interest.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Harry is keen to spend his birthday with on/off girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

The couple split earlier this year but are said to be on the verge of rekindling their romance following a string of secret dates.

A source said: "Harry is still besotted with her and she can't get him out of her head, even though she's been seeing other guys. I don't think they've fully resolved some of the problems between them yet but we all think they'll give it one last shot."
