Princess Diana Escaped To A Nudist Beach For Privacy

Britain's Princess Diana escaped to nudist beaches for privacy. The late royal - who was married to Prince Charles - was so desperate to spend time alone she begged her bodyguard to let her do "normal things" such as walk along a beach without security guards.

Diana's former bodyguard Ken Wharfe has revealed the princess secretly visited his holiday home in Dorset, on the south coast of England, to get away from life in the public spotlight.

Ken said: "She used to say to me, 'I want to come down. It must be great fun doing normal things.' I asked her what she wanted to do and she said, 'I'd love to walk on a beach in this country.'"

"So we went down, just the two of us. Sometimes that is the best protection when nobody else knows."

When Ken agreed to let Diana go for walk on her own, he failed to realize the route he had suggested led to a nudist beach.

He added: "I gave her a radio and said, 'Follow the shoreline and I shall see you round there in about an hour.'"

"After a while my radio crackled into life and I could hear her laughing. I asked her if she was OK and she said, 'You didn't tell me about the nudist beach.'"

"It was a great day. Nobody knew we did that."
