Queen Elizabeth Wrote Message Of Support To Jade Goody

April 15, 2009

Britain's Queen Elizabeth wrote to Jade Goody as she battled cancer. The reality TV star - who died last month aged 27 - received a message of support from the 82-year-old monarch's correspondence office after her sister-in-law Laura wrote to Buckingham Palace to describe Jade's plight.

Details of the note were revealed in "Jade: Forever In My Heart," a diary kept by the star in her final weeks.

She wrote: "Jack's sister Laura came and read out a letter from the Queen's secretary: 'I have been instructed to convey the Queen's warmest good wishes to Jade at what must be a very difficult time for her and her family.'"

"Laura had written to her asking for her support because she knows how much I love the Queen. 'The Queen!' I said. That was so nice."

A Buckingham Palace spokesman refused to comment on the specific nature of the message but said: "We respond to all letters that come to Buckingham Palace but the contents remain private."
