Rapper Chipmunk Threatens To Commit Suicide

November 10, 2009

Chipmunk has threatened to commit suicide. The "Chip Diddy Chip" rapper posted a series of disturbing messages on his Twitter page, sparking concern for his welfare.

In posts now removed from the social networking website, he wrote: "I Want to Die" and later asked: "Is suicide easy?"

The 18-year-old star also pulled out of a scheduled appearance at the launch of computer game 'Modern Warfare 2' Monday night and he is understood to be resting with his family at home in north London.

A spokesperson for the young MC told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Chipmunk has been working incredibly hard, which has taken its toll.

"Management have agreed to cancel all upcoming appearances to give him some much needed time off."

The teen sensation later reassured fans he was overcoming his problems.

He wrote: "This has been the most difficult time for me... But I will get through it!"

The rising star - whose real name is Jahmaal Fyffe - beat Kanye West and Eminem to be named Best Hip-Hop act at the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in September.
