Rapper DMX's N.Y. Townhouse To Be Sold At Auction

June 27, 2008

The week isn't going too well for rapper DMX. Aside from his June 23 arrest in Miami, he may also lose his home in New York at an auction.

Real name Earl Simmons, the former chart-topper's Fifth Avenue townhouse is scheduled to go under the hammer on August 13. The profits from the sheriff's sale will be used to pay his creditors off and a $281,000 judgment against the rapper stemming from a breach of contract lawsuit back in 2004, according to New York Post.

Simmons lost a lawsuit by N.Y-based company Amusing Diversions after he failed to promote the Boomer 129 dog clothing line that the company co-financed.

Simmons was arrested in Miami earlier this week for not having a valid driver's license. He was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday.
