Recording Studio Owner Sues Katt Williams For $1 Million Over Dog Attack

Comedian Katt Williams is facing a million-dollar lawsuit filed by a recording studio owner over a dog attack. Merion Powers also claims that the rapper/actor punched him while his bodyguard restrained him from behind.

Powers owns the recording studio that Williams, 36, used to record his comedy routines. When he tried to collect the $28,600 rent bill from him, Williams allegedly got nasty and showed up at the studio in October 2009 with his "attack dog."

According to the lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court, which is obtained by AllHipHop.com, Williams gave the dog a verbal command and the dog pounced on another dog owned by Powers. The injured pup required veterinary treatment.

In December, Williams asked the owner to meet him at the Four Seasons Hotel to discuss the incident. Powers met the actor at the hotel and told him he was thinking of filing criminal charges over the dog incident.

Williams then purportedly threatened to kill him while his attack dog circled him. One of Williams' bodyguards restrained him from behind while the "Wild 'n Out" comic punched him in the face. Williams' attack dog was apparently waiting for the attack signal.

Powers wants at least $1 million in damages.
