Ricky Gervais hates wigs, accents and kissing. The "Invention of Lying" star doesn't like roles that require him to put on a strange voice, don fake hair or smooch his co-stars, because he feels uncomfortable.

The British comedian explained: "I'm not fond of accents or wigs. The kiss thing is not a rule. I just don't like films where people hate each other, they kiss and the rest is history."

"I'm sitting there screaming, 'Now, hold on! No, no, no!' People get drunk and they kiss, but it doesn't mean anything."

But Ricky recalls one occasion he wished he had taken more care with his on screen appearance - when he played dentist Dr. Bertram Pincus in "Ghost Town."

He said: "Once, a journalist said to me, 'In your movie, you have the most amazing set of horrible-looking fake teeth.' I said, 'No, they are my own teeth.' He went, 'No they're not.'"

"The journalist went red and I said, 'Don't worry about it. If you haven't noticed, I'm English.'"

The 48-year-old star also revealed he only enjoys starring in films he has written because he makes himself laugh so much.

He added in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper: "It's funny, because if I don't come up with the idea for a movie, I'm suspicious of it. What excites me the most in coming up with the idea."

"The creative process is where you find the thrill. Yes, the set is fun, awards are fun and money is nice. But there is nothing more fun than me sitting in a room laughing about what I just said. Nothing comes even close."
