Photographer David LaChapelle is suing Rihanna for allegedly ripping off his work. The singer's video for her new single "S&M" is apparently derived from photos he shot.

According to LaChapelle's lawsuit filed in New York on Monday, RIhanna ripped off images from his BDSM-themed photographs, which have appeared in various magazines like GQ, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stones.

He cited eight of his images that have allegedly been copied in the Melina Matsoukas-directed video including Rihanna walking gossip blogger Perez Hilton on a leash, which corresponds with LaChapelle's 2002 shot for Vogue.

LaChapelle claims that before Matsoukas was hired to direct the video, "another well-known director was asked to create a LaChapelle-inspired music video for Rihanna and that director rejected the offer."

"Upon information and belief, the storyboards for the music video consisted of or contained prints of the LaChapelle works and other LaChapelle photographs."

The famed photographer also names Black Dog Films, Matsoukas, Island Def Jam Music and UMG Recordings as defendants.
