Robbie Williams Addicted To Poker

February 23, 2009

Robbie Williams is addicted to poker. The "Angels" singer has become a regular visitor to the Premiere Club, which is located in Swindon near his Wiltshire mansion.

Robbie, who is often accompanied by best friend Jonathan Wilkes, has been described as a talent by his opponents.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Robbie has been in frequently over the last few weeks. He plays to a very high standard and has been having fun with Jonathan."

"He's getting a reputation as a serious adversary around the poker tables here."

"Rudebox" singer Robbie previously played poker while living in Los Angeles, and even ran his own card school, asking celebrities such as Welsh singer Tom Jones to join him.

Tom previously said: "Robbie's started a poker circle. He's bought a house up the street from me and has been asking me to join in but I can't play."

Robbie has been in the U.K. since last December when he rushed home from his Los Angeles house to visit his mother in hospital, where she underwent a heart bypass operation. He subsequently bought a $14 million mansion in Wiltshire.

He is using the property as his main residence while he is working on a new album.
