Robbie Williams Discourages Kylie Minogue In Cracking The U.S. Market

Kylie Minogue can forget counting on pal Robbie Williams for support in her bid to enter the American music scene. The English "Millennium" singer is trying to discourage the Australian pop star from hitting the U.S. market.

Minogue, who has only two tracks that successfully entered the states, is exerting great efforts to break into the American market by appearing on TV shows to promote her album. However, Williams is advising her to keep a low profile in the country.

A source says, "Minogue has spoken about it with Williams. He told her he loves being largely unknown when he's at home in the States, while cash rolls in from the rest of the world."

"Williams thinks she should keep the U.S. as a place she can go to escape the spotlight. But Minogue doesn't agree and has decided on one final push."

The "Locomotion" singer had tried to explain why she's not as successful in the U.S. as she is in her native Australia and U.K.

She had said, "It's a notoriously difficult market. To know where I fit within that market is very difficult."
