April 28, 2008

Robert Downey Jr. says his 'Iron Man' suit fitted like a "gold titanium glove".

The actor, who plays billionaire weapons contractor Tony Stark in the comic book movie, felt completely at ease wearing the suit of armor that gives his character superhuman strength.

Speaking at the U.K. premiere of 'Iron Man' at London's Leicester Square Thursday night, Robert said: "I loved playing 'Iron Man'. That suit fit me like a gold titanium glove."

"It was a huge departure for me, but I hope we gave the audience their money's worth."

Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Stark's loyal assistant Pepper Potts in the movie based on the Marvel Comic book series, loved working with Robert and was surprised by how much fun she had shooting her first superhero film.

Gwyneth, who looked stunning in a black sequined mini-dress and seven-inch black stilettos, said: "Who would have thought I would be in an action movie?"

"Robert is one of the greatest living actors in the world. He is a wonderful human being and I hope to work with him for the rest of my life."

The 35-year-old blonde actress, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, was also full of praise for the group's hotly-anticipated new album 'Viva La Vida'.

She said: "It is brilliant. Don't tell him I told you that though!"
