Rod Stewart Gives Rhys Ifans Tests To Prove If He Is Worthy To Date His Daughter Kimberly

September 8, 2008

Rod Stewart has set Rhys Ifans a series of tests to prove he is worthy to date his daughter. The actor is currently romancing the "Maggie May" singer's daughter Kimberly, 29, and Rod is determined to discover Rhys' interests before he gives the relationship his blessing.

The 63-year-old rocker's wife, Penny Lancaster, 37, told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Rod really likes Rhys and wants to get to know him and what makes him tick."

"So he'll see if he can play football, what he knows about cars - a love of music is already one thing they share."

A friend of 40-year-old Rhys - who also sings with rock band The Peth - added: "Rod thinks you can tell a lot about a man from his interests and the manner he attacks tasks, so he's determined to check Rhys out in full."

Rhys and Kimberly were first linked in July this year, shortly after the "Notting Hill" star split from Sienna Miller.

Their romance was reported to have ended after he was seen with a mystery blonde companion during a holiday to Ibiza.

Rhys and Kimberly later reconciled when he returned to London.
