Rumer Willis To Be "Miss Golden Globe"

July 31, 2008

Rumer Willis is to be Miss Golden Globe at the awards ceremony next year. Rumer - the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore - was originally given the honor last November but the 65th Annual Golden Globes ceremony in January was cancelled due to the Hollywood writers' strike.

However, it has now been confirmed she will take the prestigious title at the next ceremony.

The honor is given to the child of a celebrity by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Rumer will be responsible for handing out the trophies at the annual awards.

Steven Spielberg will be given the coveted Cecil B. DeMille Award at the ceremony, which will take place on January 11, 2009.

Like Rumer, it was announced he would receive the honor last year before the Globes were cancelled.

Previous Miss Golden Globes include Melanie Griffith - daughter of Alfred Hitchcock's leading lady Tippi Hedren - in 1975 and Kevin Costner's daughter Lily in 2004.

Clark Gable's son John was given the title of Mr. Golden Globe in 1995.

Rumer made her acting debut playing Demi's character as a child in the 1995 movie "Now and Then."
