Ryan Reynolds And Scarlett Johansson Ready To Adopt

July 9, 2009

Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson are set to adopt. The "Proposal" actor - who married the "Lost In Translation" star last September - dreams of giving a home to a disadvantaged child because of his own upbringing with an adopted sibling.

He revealed: "My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time. I'm very grateful for having my brother in my life. I couldn't be more pro-adoption. There are plenty of kids in the world that need it."

Although Ryan is now very close to his three brothers, he admits they didn't always get on as youngsters.

He added to Britain's Glamour magazine: "I learnt how to take a punch from a very early age. I was routinely pummeled into a fine cottage cheese."

The 32-year-old star also enjoys a close relationship with his parents and says he shares a lot of their traits.

He explained: "I have my father's face and body, but my mother's unshakeable thirst for knowledge. She works part-time jobs but basically she's been a student her whole life. She still goes to university and she's in her 60s."
