Sally Kirkland suffers a broken leg at an L.A film festival

Actress Sally Kirkland has been hospitalized after she broke her leg in two places at the Studio City Film Festival in Los Angeles.

According to witnesses,the actress broke her leg while going to the stage to receive her award for Best Actress in a Dramatic Short when she fell.

After being rushed to a nearby hospital,Kirkland underwent surgery to repair the broken bones.

Her representative says the actress bemoans the poor lighting at the studio.She is still in hospital and in great pain.The surgery however according to the rep went well.The actress is reported to be in good spirits and is optimistic about getting better.
