Scarlett Johansson Delays Wedding To Ryan Reynolds Until After The U.S. Presidential Election

August 22, 2008

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have delayed their wedding until after the U.S. Presidential election.

The "Other Boleyn Girl" actress is keen to hold off on the couple's nuptials because her twin brother Hunter is currently working on Democratic hopeful Barack Obama's campaign.

A source said: "Scarlett and Ryan are taking it slow because Ryan is busy working on Obama's campaign. Scarlett, who also supports Obama, wants to hold off until the election is over because Hunter is so busy."

However, the couple have already decided on a tentative date this winter, following Scarlett's 24th birthday on November 22.

They are said to be planning to wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony in Scarlett's hometown of New York City.

Scarlett's mother Melanie comes from an Ashkenazi Jewish family from the Bronx borough of New York.
