Actress Scarlett Johansson is denying the rumors that she snubbed the premiere of Woody Allen's latest movie "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" because movie execs refused to cater to her diva demands.
The "Lost In Translation" star was expected to walk the red carpet at Cannes International Film Festival on Saturday, but skipped the prestigious premiere in the midst of rumors that the production's distributors, executives in the French division of Warner Bros Films, denied her excessive and extravagant hospitality requests. The executives reportedly spent weeks negotiating with the blonde beauty's representatives.
Reports say that Johansson's demands to seal her appearance included an $8,000 a day make-up artist and her refusal to stay at a lavish hotel located in the heart of Cannes, where director Allen and co-star Cruz were staying. Instead, she requested a suite at a hotel 30 miles away.
But the actress has responded to the claims, with her representative telling New York gossip column PageSix that she wasn't able to attend the premiere due to unavoidable "scheduling conflicts."
Johansson stars in the Woody Allen flick with Penelope Cruz and Spanish Oscar-winner Javier Bardem. Bardem also missed the premiere citing personal family reasons for not attending.
