Shaq and Waka In Legal Feud for Insulting Fan on Social Media

Shaquille O’Neal and rapper Waka Flocka Flame have landed in legal trouble after reposting a picture of a man with a disorder and mocking his appearance on social media.

The complainant Jahmel Binion posted a selfie in April, which was picked up and re-posted by Shaq and Waka, who posted the image with servile captions.

The caption made fun of Jahmel’s face, who suffers from a rare disorder called hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia. This condition causes Jahmel to have limited hair growth, missing teeth, and facial deformities.

As reports of this started coming in, Shaq deleted the image and apologized to Jahmel. He tweeted, "Made a new friend today when I called and apologized to Jahmel Binion. Great dude. #alwayslearning #MYBADCUZ."

But Jahmel is not one to be easily placated. He has filed a defamation suit against Shaq, Waka and Trey Burke – who was also involved in insulting him over social media. According to the law suit, the insults were seen by more than 8.4 million people.

23-year-old Jahmel stated, "When they said sorry, I felt like they were saying it to get the pressure off of them for being considered ‘bad people.’”
