Shia LeBeouf-Directed Music Video Debuts

May 18, 2009

Shia LeBeouf will soon be re-joining forces with huge robots, but he also found some time to try his hand (his good hand after last year's near-tragic car accident) at directing. First up, a new music video for LeBeouf's friend and favorite rapper, Cage.

The video for "I Never Knew You" debuted online and on MTV2 today. The clip, which features a cameo from LaBeouf, shows actor Dan Byrd ("Aliens in America") following a mysterious woman, played by Scarlett Kapella. LaBeouf makes his directorial debut with the music video.

"The whole [narrative] is being imagined as I'm performing in the club, so this is all in my head," Cage explained to LA Weekly. "The idea of the song is you're sitting on a curb, you're bummed out and suddenly the girl of your dreams walks around the corner and completely changes your life. You're so taken by this woman, you just start following her. It's obsession."

"I Never Knew You" is the first single off Cage's upcoming album, "Depart From Me," which hits stores July 7th. LaBeouf reprises his role as Sam Witwicky in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," which hits theaters June 26th.
