Sir Michael Caine To Stay In The U.K. For His Grandchildren

September 1, 2009

Sir Michael Caine will stay in the U.K. for his grandchildren. The "Alfie" actor - who previously threatened to leave his native England when politicians announced plans to raise income tax for the highest earners to 50 percent - has decided to stay put and spend time with his grandson Taylor and the twins his daughter Natasha is due to give birth to later this month.

The 76-year-old star said: "Being a granddad is my best role yet. As a dad of two daughters, I never had a son. So Taylor has been a double whammy. It's as if he's both my grandson and my son. He also looks like me. So am I going to walk out on him and two more grandchildren for the sake of 10 percent of my income? No chance!"

Caine recently revealed he can't wait for the next Batman movie to be made.

The actor - who played Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred in the last two films in the superhero franchise - is keen to start work on the third installment, but has no idea when shooting will start.

He said: "I imagine another 'Batman' is quite a long way away. But I expect the third film will probably include The Riddler."

"I signed for three Batmans so I'm still up for it."

Last week, it was reported Megan Fox was set to star as Catwoman in the next movie, but the rumors were denied by Warner Bros.
