Steven Tyler's gotten great reviews for his stint as judge on "American Idol," but he's also raised a few eyebrows for some of his behavior (including hitting on the very young contestants). But he's definitely got some proud offspring, with his daughter/actress Liv Tyler saying she's now a fan of the show, while daughter Mia says he's downright saving it.

Liv admitted to Access Hollywood that she'd never been an avid watcher of the show before, but now that her dad's on, she's a huge fan. "I was so excited. I've never really watched 'American Idol' - I had seen it once or twice," she said while at the Sundance Film Festival.

"I just watched with my girlfriends at home the other night and I had goose bumps for an hour-and-a-half and laughed and loved it!" she said.

Meanwhile, Mia Tyler, model turned photographer and one of the father of four's children, has heard some of the unwarranted criticism about her dad on the show and came to his defense.

"We're a very sarcastic family," Tyler told Life & Style. "He's the funniest man I know. He's saving the show because it was kind of boring before. There's only so many times you can watch Simon be mean to people."

Well for those looking for Simon's rude and crude judging style, they'll have to wait for the "X Factor" to debut in the fall. But Tyler does offer up plenty of wisecracks and "Tylerisms" in his new job, with sayings like "hellfire, save matches, f--k a duck and see what hatches" leaving viewers rolling or at least scratching their heads.

"Yeah, he's very funny," Liv said about his "Tylerisms." "He's really good at the weird sayings that just come out of his mouth out of nowhere all the time."

But Mia says that Steven, who's better known for being the frontman of one of the most successful rock bands of all-time, is just dad at home.

"He's very much a dad when he's home," Mia told Life & Style. "He's very protective and gets mad at us for not cleaning the catlitter box — typical dad stuff."

"It's so nice to see him up there," she continued. "He loves it!"
