Jason Orange thinks fame is "s**t." The Take That star claims the only positive thing about being a celebrity is that it helps you "jump the queue" at clubs, but most aspects of stardom are a drag. He said: "To be honest, I think fame is s**t. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I know it's a huge aspiration for a lot of young people these days, but really I can't think of one redeeming feature it has other than that of a quick ego caress or being able to jump the queue at a club." Despite his current anti-fame attitude, Jason, 38, loved being well-known in the group's 90s heyday. However, it was only after the band, made up of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, split in 1996 - fifth member Robbie Williams quit in 1995 - that the singer began to enjoy his anonymity again. He explained: "When I first joined the band I was mad for it. I kept a scrapbook of all our magazine front covers. I bought into the idea wholesale. But when it ended I loved being a private person again. I loved walking through town unrecognized." |
