Taylor Swift's New Song "Dear John" Targets John Mayer

If you've gone anywhere near Taylor Swift and you think her latest song is about you, it probably is. While Swift is definitely speaking up about her past relationships on her new album "Speak Now," some surprising words have been reserved for John Mayer.

Swift appeared on Mayer's single "Half of My Heart," a Top 10 adult contemporary hit off Mayer's "Battle Studies" album. Mayer appears on Swift's new album as well as the subject of her track, "Dear John."

The song basically confirms rumors that surfaced last year that their relationship was more than just musical. She now joins a list of stars like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, and Jennifer Aniston who have been aboard the Mayercraft.

"Dear John / I see it all now that you're gone / Don't you think I was too young / To be messed with / The girl in the dress / Cried the whole way home / I should've known," reads the chorus to the track.

"It was wrong / Don't you think nineteen's too young / To be played / By your dark, twisted games / When I loved you so," she continues on the track.

Swift, who's famously written songs about ex-Joe Jonas and Kanye West (who she did not date), told Access Hollywood that she won't have to make any clarifications with these songs as they're pretty direct. One of them, "Back to December," is reportedly for "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner.

"They're all made very clear," she said. "Every single song is like a road map to what that relationship stood for, with little markers that maybe everyone won't know, but there are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints. And every single song is like that. Everyone will know, so I don't really have to send out e-mails on this one."

Taylor Swift's "Speak Now," her third studio album, hits stores everywhere on Tuesday, October 25th.
