June 15, 2009

British actress Thandie Newton is set to work for Oprah as a teacher. The "Crash" star will be teaching acting class at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.

Contactmusic.com reports that the 36-year-old actress, who boasts of having BAFTA and SAG trophies, will be passing on her skills to the girls at the boarding school, which Oprah opened in January 2007 for disadvantaged girls.

She told the website, "I am really looking forward to it as it's such a great scheme and it's nice to give something back."

Newton won the 2006 BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for her dramatic performance in "Crash." She also won a SAG award alongside her co-stars for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture.
