The Interview Release Date Pushed Back To Christmas

August 8, 2014 James Franco, Seth Rogen

Dying to watch James Franco and Seth Rogen on the big screen together? Well your waiting time just got extended!

It has been confirmed that the release of their highly anticipated and controversial film has been pushed back from its 10th October release date to Christmas Day.

No explanation has been given as to why the release was postponed.

The movie is set around a show host and producer, who score an interview with Kim Jong-un and are instructed by the U.S. government to assassinate the leader during a visit to the controversial nation.

News has it; the North Korean government has threatened retaliation if the movie is released.

"Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated," an anonymous spokesperson for the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, talking about The Interview.

"If the US administration allows and defends the showing of the film, a merciless counter-measure will be taken," the spokesman was quoted.

However, a representative for Kim Jong-un established to U.K. media that the dictator would like to watch the movie.
