Jael Straus was one of the most unforgettable contestants in Top Model. She joined the contest on its 8th cycle and was always on the running because of her quirky personality and beauty. But she didn't get to finish the cycle as everyone expected her to and only landed the 5th position after a tragic loss of a friend due to drug overdose.
After five years since she first debuted and the cycle ended, she had been a meth addict and is now unrecognizable by many. Her family even staged an intervention with Dr. Phil.
Many former contestants and even winners of the show say that they were mislead by the Top Model crown because they were not really equipped to be successful in the industry. Most of them apparently have to fight to find work despite their Top Model history.
