Timbaland Denies Suicide Attempt

August 26, 2010 Timbaland, The Police

Timbaland was not attempting suicide, though his family worried he was in danger to do so. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department put out a "possible suicide attempt" hunt for the record producer/rapper at the behest of his worried family, but it turned out he wasn't planning on ending his life any time soon.

The Sheriff's Department ordered a helicopter and squad cars in search of the 39-year-old Grammy winner after his family members called police.

According to TMZ sources, Timbaland was deeply upset about something during a phone call earlier in the day with his brother-in-law. Apparently, someone stole a $2 million Jacob & Co. watch from his Malibu home a day before, and he suspected it might be someone he trusted.

He then left home in his Escalade. And when family members couldn't locate him, they became extremely worried and called the police.

The authorities took him to his residence after he was located, and paramedics came to evaluate him. It was determined that he was not a threat to himself.

Timbaland explained the mess to Ryan Secrest's radio show. He said it was true that someone stole something from him and he was upset about it. But he was not attempting suicide. He simply took a drive to clear his head.
