TLC Edges Jon Gosselin Out, Reformats Show As "Kate Plus Eight" |

TLC is edging Jon Gosselin out of the picture. The network has announced that "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" will adapt to the change in the family and re-launch the show as "Kate Plus Eight" in November. TLC says the program will continue to feature the lives of the Gosselin family's twins and sextuplet, but unlike the previous format, there will be a deeper focus on matriarch Kate's role in the family and her journey as a single mother building a new chapter in her life. Jon, who announced his divorce from Kate in June, will continue to appear on the newly reformatted show, but on a less regular basis. Network President and GM Eileen O'Neill said, "Given the change in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family. The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kate's journey really resonates with our viewers." She added that TLC is in development on a Kate project next year. |
