In an age where paparazzi are vultures and celebrities are prey, it seems that a legal oversight in Hollywood has allowed those in the public eye to be stalked, followed and even lured into car chases on the Sunset Strip. As a Britney fan I once watched a live brigade of paparazzi and police follow Spears on a webcam, her white Mercedes plowed forward as 30 cars sped behind her and a helicopter hovered above and this was just on her daily drive to Target. .com/celebs/yes'>Yes, we all know this is crazy, thinking you can be the face of pop music and attempt to lead a life where running to the Supermarket is common play without body guards and assistants, photogs and leering fans.

The sexy school girl outfit was apparently Britney's idea as she burst onto the scene with the number one video in the country. In one of the most memorable performances of all time, Britney (and her nude body suit) made a splash at the MTV Video Music awards, performing her own spin on the Rolling Stone's “Satisfaction” into her own hit “Oops I Did It Again”, taking a far more explicit turn. This performance cemented the idea that it was Britney's world and we were all just living in it.

From car wash attendant to millionaire, most questioned his motives, many found his rap “career” laughable, but we all agreed that this former back up dancer was toxic and the two divorced in the midst of a child custody battle.

BRITNEY THE MOM

In one of the most famous Britney interviews to date, a crying Brit sat across from Lauer in runny eye liner and clumpy mascara, pregnant with her second child Jayden, pleading for privacy. This came after a series of tough moments for the star, including, almost dropping son Sean Preston on a New York street and sitting him on her lap while driving a car. It seemed Britney had reached a breaking point, a moment in her career where public adoration had turned to scrutiny. This was the beginning of a meltdown.

OOPS....THE VMA's
