People like to lie, they get a thrill out of it. This is why we are always seeing fake celebrity death reports! The lie catches like wildfire on the Internet via Twitter, Facebook, etc. And soon, everyone is posting "so-and-so died!" and "R.I.P. so-and-so!" Well, this article takes a look at the top 10 celebrity false death reports. Read on for a look back at all the ridiculous hoaxes!

Lil Wayne

We have been reading all over the internet that Lil Wayne died from drinking cough syrup and the subsequent seizure. Untrue, he is alive and kicking and says, "he's good."

Well, this seems to be a reoccurring thing, as back in December of 2011 Lil Wayne was reported dead.

The Internet Chronicle reported in 2011 that 'Lil Wayne was pronounced dead at 6:59 a.m. EST. Cause of death was listed as “fatal injuries caused to himself after a massive overdose of phencyclidine.” Sources close to the musician suggested Lil Wayne may have taken too much PCP, a popular party drug, and done severe damage to his face with his hands and sharp knives.'

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman had a car accident. People said he was dead. And more recently, he was pronounced dead after artery rupture.

R.I.P. Morgan Freeman is a Facebook fanpage that emerged last August stating that the 'Shawshank Redemption actor is no more.' The page has received one million likes.

Morgan, who has played God in two movies, laughs off these ridiculous death hoaxes. He recently tweeted the following regarding his death:

"I hope those stories are not true. ... But if they are, I'm happy to report that my afterlife seems identical to my life when I was alive.

Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby was also a victim of a fake R.I.P. Facebook page. This is the fifth time the 73-year-old actor has been proclaimed dead.

Bill's response was to tweet pictures of himself wearing awesome sweaters from his run on The Cosby Show.

Robert Pattinson

Last July Robert Pattinson was declared dead by the Internet. He was thought to have committed suicide. This was a hoax, although the reason for his 'supposed' suicide - Kristen Stewart cheating on him - is reportedly not a hoax.

So though Pattinson may have suffered heart ache, he does still have a heart beat and is alive and well.

Bill Nye 'The Science Guy'

Last summer The Onion reported that Bill Nye the Science Guy lost his life in a freak hot air balloon accident. The death hoax pumped new lifeblood into Bill Ny's popularity and he used the public's resurgence of interest in him to post videos about how creationism should not be taught in the classroom.

In this case, it was a Twitter thread that started an R.I.P. Bill Nye thread that sparked thousands to start mourning his 'death'.

Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy was reported to have fallen victim to the slopes. To have perished as Sonny Bono did, bashing into a tree whilst skiing.

Global Associated News reported that, 'the actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Eddie Murphy lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.'

The fraudulent report went on to fabricate Eddie Murphy being air lifted out by chopper to a local hospital, but that it was all needless as poor Eddie perished at the moment of impact.

50 Cent

50 Cent, according to the same culprits at Global Associated News, was reported to have died in a car accident on Interstate 50.

GAN continues to report, "Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that 50 Cent lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly."

Tony Danza

Tony Danza apparently took a fatal fall from a high cliff while filming overseas.

Democratic Underground reports that:

Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available.

Recent television appearances dispel this crazy rumor.

Jerry Springer

Jerry Springer was supposedly killed in a car crash. And in this case, the death hoax prank was not victimless. The NY Times reports that:

'When Mr. Springer was told that he died while driving a friend’s vehicle on a highway he immediately checked in with his family. “My wife couldn’t read it,” [Jerry Springer] said. “It was just too difficult for her.”

Justin Bieber

Over the years Justin Bieber has been said to have been shot in nightclubs, died in car crashes and overdosed on drugs. Obviously none of these are true, as the Biebs is still here.

Some people think Justin Bieber's fake death reports are propagated by Bieber himself to boost his own popularity.
