The highest priced home in the country, the $150-million dollar Spelling mansion, appears to be off the market. The new owner is reported to be 22-year-old Petra Ecclestone, daughter of the founder of Formula One racing.

The iconic mansion simply known as The Manor, located in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, is a 56,500 square foot limestone-clad monolith. According to the Wall Street Journal, Ecclestone is planning on splitting her time between London and Los Angeles following her upcoming wedding to entrepreneur James Stunt.

Reportedly, Candy Spelling, widow of television producer Aaron Spelling, remained firm on her $150 million price tag she placed on the property in 2008 even through the economic downturn. However, the actual sales price has not been disclosed.

The multi-winged faux-French chateau estate sits on five manicured acres that back up to the Los Angeles Country Club. The home features 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms, a double staircase inspired by "Gone With the Wind," a formal living room the size of some hotel lobbies that also does double duty as a projection room, a banquet hall-sized formal dining room, oak-paneled library, office, billiard room, game room, two-lane bowling alley, wine cellar with tasting room, a gift wrapping room, china and silver storage, a beauty salon and barber shop, doll museum, art studio, fitness room and a "Prince Charles suite," named after its one-time royal guest,

Additionally, to service a house so large, staff is required so the home has several staff and service quarters along with covered parking spaces for 16 cars and overall parking for 100 cars along its motor court.

In the early 1980s, Aaron and Candy Spelling spent a reported $45 million building their dream home. Spelling closed in December 2010 on a new $35 million 15,555-square-foot condo in Century City, which is only the size of the attic in her current abode.

The former Candy Marer married Aaron Spelling, an up and coming television producer, when she was 20 and he was 46. Aaron Spelling gained acclaim and wealth for some of the most famous shows in television history, including "Charlie's Angels," "The Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "Dynasty," Starsky and Hutch," "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Melrose Place."
