"Desperate Housewives" Casts New Vixen Drea De Matteo |

Edie Britt's replacement has been found. "Sopranos" star Drea de Matteo is the new Wisteria Lane vixen in "Desperate Housewives." According to EW, the 37-year-old actress has been tapped to be the new housewife seductress in the ABC series. She will be a show regular and will play the matriarch of a new Italian family. Casting is underway for her screen husband and their son. The show's former vixen was Edie Britt, a serial divorcee who was killed in a fatal electrocution after a car accident during the last season. Nicollette Sheridan played her. "Desperate Housewives" will return for its sixth season on September 27. Stars Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria-Parker, and Felicity Huffman are expected to reprise their roles. |
